"Why don't you like me?"

Maggie: You know how wonderful you are?
Lucas: Yeah, but it doesn't turn you on, does it?

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

We have looked at the role of evolutionary anthropology on human mating practices over the past two days, and we have looked at the theory that men look for young women who symbolize "fertility" who can deliver healthy offspring, and women supposedly look for "strong" men with resources who can protect them when they are vulnerable with babies. How true is that in the world you see around you? Is it possible that Lucas, rather than the football player, might get the cheerleader? If he is "wonderful" enough? Writes her poetry? Flowers? Would do just about anything for her? Or is he never going to get the cheerleader because of his body and the way he looks?
